365 Days of Me: August

I continue to search for myself every day. And that's hard. As I've told you before, the last time I was truly happy in my own skin and the person I was (who I thought was the "real me") was my junior year of college and I wish I knew how to find that person again. With the fresh start at my writing and not trying to compete or win people over, I decided to do a "365 days of me" challenge... let me explain how this works.

Each month I have saved a template of questions for each day of that month. Some questions I've read are beyond silly and fun while others make you dig a little deeper. I wanted to do this, not only for my readers to get to know me a little bit more but mainly for myself, so I can get to know myself a little bit more. I encourage all of my readers to try this and I would love to read your answers, even if you choose a few out of the list, I would absolutely love to get to know you, too.

Q1: Describe a moment from today that you want to remember always. A: Today, Saturday, August 18th, I want to remember spending the afternoon with my Nannie. She is one of the most incredible humans on this planet, she is my best friend.

Q2: What are five things that you do every day without fail? A: 1. Wake up and hug on Baylee Jo and Auto (my puppers) 2. Do a devotional on the app called "Abide" 3. Talk to Gwen and Joe (my parents) and Aubry (my best friend) 4. Get on social media 5. Play HQ at 3pm and 9pm

Q3: Would you prefer to live by the ocean or up in the moundatins? Why? A: That is a difficult one for me... I would probably choose mountains because I loved living with a mountainin my backyard when I lived in Morehead and that way going to the ocean would still be a great vacation instead of my backyard. *Unpopular opinion, I know.

Q4: What games did you play with your siblings when you were growing up? A: Board games? The Game of Life... LOVED that one. Imaginary games? My sister would be my teacher (and now she is a high school teacher) or my favorite was hotel... Daddy had an endless amount of keys and we would pretend they would be hotel room keys that we would check out.

Q5: When was the last time you and your partner went on a date? Write about it. A: I don't have a partner at the moment and I would love to write about my most recent but it has been several years and I truly can't remember that far back and what our last date would have been.

Q6: Do you have any fond memories of camping with your family? A: Mmm, hard pass. We never went camping. I'm in no way interested in going either.

Q7: If you had an empty room, what are the ten things you would add to it? A: 1. A bed, obviously 2/3. A nightstand with a lamp (does that count as two?) 4. A large full body mirror 5/6. A desk and chair 7. A laptop 8. My clothing rack 9. Any photo for the wall 10. A big fuzzy rug

Q8: Where's your favorite place to write? A: I wish I had an answer for this, but I haven't found that place yet. I enjoy writing in my room, but I also end up procrastinating or getting too comfortable to write. I like to write at some sort of desk.

Q9: Do you prefer going to cafes by yourself or with other people? A: Other people, for sure.

Q10: What are your ten favorite movies? Why? A: Oh, this is a great question because I am a movie fanatic! *They aren't in any order

1. Burlesque - it is such an incredible and powerful movie, I adore Christina and Cher in a Burlesque setting 2. The Devil Wears Prada - it's seriously my dream life and each character has their own empowering message 3. How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days - how can you not love Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson together? A CLASSIC 4. The Wedding Planner - again, how could you not love Matthew McConaughey and JLo. ANOTHER CLASSIC and it was part of the reason I chose event planning as a major in college 5. Overboard - oh my goodness, where do I start with why I love this movie. It's such a fun film and I love when couples like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell work together 6. Big Daddy - Adam Sandler is a top favorite and this is such a heart warming story that has me in tears no matter how many times I watch it 7. Adore - ok, I literally don't want to explain this movie because it's so strange but it is the greatest love story you'll ever watch and it gets me every time. 8. The Greatest Showman - oh my goooodness, if you haven't seen this movie, watch it right NOW. It's a musical but you don't even notice it because they are SO good, ugh. 9. Divergent - I just wish I was in Dauntless and Four was my boyfriend. This has such a cool concept of how the "future" would be and I love how empowering and fearless Tris is 10. Sweet Home Alabama - literally... no need for an explanation

Q11: How do you cope with stress and anxiety? A: Music or sleep. I know sleep is bad and avoiding it, but dreaming is my favorite thing in life and it allows me to go into a different reality that isn't this one so when I wake up I'm focused on that instead of my stress. Music can transform any mood in a matter of minutes and that's magical.

Q12: What do you usually have with toast? A: Peanut butter.

Q13: Write about one of your childhood friends. A: Mmm, I have plenty of childhood friends to talk about but my childhood best friend who is no longer in my life was a big part of my life for many many years. We were the definition of inseperable. I'll leave it at that.

Q14: What are some of the things you tend to do when you procrastinate? A: YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, movies, Diamond Dash and sleep.

Q15: Descibe a typical Thursday. A: I wake up and get ready for work, spend my day at work from 8-5 then I go to one of my girlfriend's house to get ready and my two girlfriends and I head downtown Lexington for dinner and TNL or a girls night.

Q16: What are three things you are thankful for right now? A: 1. My family and friends 2. My health, even though it's not the best or where I want it 3. The fact that tomorrow is Sunday

Q17: Is there anywhere in particular you would like to go with your family? A: I would LOVE to go see the northern lights... that's top on my bucket list.

Q18: What currently inspires you? A: Ariana Grande.

Q19: How did your parents make a living? A: Joe works for a security system company and Gwennie is retired from being a medical transcriptionist and now teaches piano

Q20: What is your favorite hour of the day, and why? A: about 6:00pm because my family and I are off of work and it's a time to just chill and relax, do whatever we want/need to do before dinner.

Q21: How do you comfor your child(ren) when they are sad? A: Don't have children so this doesn't apply to me, but when my family or friends are sad I try either try to do things with them that will get their mind off of why they are sad or I talk them through their sadness by allowing them to get it off of their chest and face their feelings and tell them of a situation where I faced the same hurt.

Q22: Has somebody been kind to you recently? A: Oh, definitely. I wish I could think of one certain occasion but I can't.

Q23: What happend at 1pm today? A: Hm... 1pm... I know I was eating lunch but I'm not sure if anything special happened... I had McDonalds if that's what you're wanting to know...

Q24: What are some things weighing on your heart right now? A: My current state of life... being my overall happiness in things whether it be my health, job, my non-existent relationship, my future, my living and my affect on others.

Q25: Are there any habits that you would like to develop? A: Ugh, I would love to wake up earlier so I can enjoy my mornings instead of feeling rushed. I don't mind mornings once I'm up... it's just waking up that is hard for me... ya girl loves her sleep.
