You haven't gotten to meet the chef side of MJ, but fun fact: cooking is one of my favorite hobbies and greatest passions.
If you don't follow Buzzfeed's Tasty pages, I 10/10 recommend it... I find so many great recipes from their inspiration. When looking, I found a recipe for a homemade honey mustard chicken. I'm never one to really follow much direction and just make the recipes as I go based on what I think tastes best and adding ingredients that I know my family and I like. With that being said, I may not be the best person to give tips but here is my version of the homemade honey mustard chicken. Enjoy!!!

Ingredients:
1/2 - 1 cup - honey
4 tablespoons - whole grain mustard
3 tablespoons - olive oil
2 teaspoons - minced garlic
1 teaspoon - basil
1 teaspoon - garlic powder
1 cup** - heavy whipping cream
chicken breasts** (amount depending on your party)
bacon strips** (amount based on liking, if preferred, I typically do about 5 or 6 slices)
mushrooms** (amount based on liking, if preferred, I typically use 7-9)
Instructions:
1.) Begin by combining honey, whole grain mustard and olive oil into raised pan. Marinate chicken in mixture for 20-25 minutes.
a.) While the chicken is marinating, I recommend going on and cutting the bacon strips into small pieces (smaller than bite sized) and cutting the mushrooms into chunks. I cut the mushrooms into half, then into fourths.
2.) Grease a pan with oil or butter, whichever is preferred, to cook the chicken on stove top. It does not have to be cooked fully at this time, just be sure to sear each side. Put to the side and cover.
3.) If needed, add a little more oil or butter, add minced garlic, bacon and mushrooms to saute.
4.) Once bacon and mushrooms are cooked to your liking, begin to pour heavy whipping cream into the pan. I said about 1 cup in the ingredients list but I don't measure, I usually buy a 16 oz container and pour about half, check to see how creamy it looks, then add more if needed. Mix in remaining honey mustard marinade. Allow mixture to come to a small boil then reduce to heat to simmer.
5.) At this time, you will add in the basil and taste test to see if anything needs to be added based on how it tastes for you. If the honey mustard is too strong, add more heavy whipping cream. If it's lost the slight garlic taste, add in the garlic powder listed. This is the step that will be different for everyone.
6.) Once the mixture begins to darken, add chicken to finish cooking. Coat with chicken mixture to soak.
7.) Serve with sides. Scoop out sauce for dipping or poured over top of chicken for extra taste.
8.) ENJOY!
